2023 WISE Twin Cities Speed Mentoring Event

Presented by the Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx

Tuesday, April 4, 2023
5:00pm - 7:30pm

Target Center - Lexus Courtside Club (628 N 1st Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55403)

On Tuesday, April 4th WISE Twin Cities members and guests came together at the Lexus Courtside Club in Downtown Minneapolis for our Annual Speed Mentoring Signature Event. Hosted by the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx, this sold out event gave us the opportunity to connect with our peers and some amazing industry leaders and to learn from their diverse insights and expertise.

First up, we had the chance to network with other members and take a complementary headshot, before opening remarks from WISE TC’s new President Kara Kawakami and the introduction of the 12 mentors, who ranged from CEO’s to entrepreneurs, from marketing gurus to creatives, and represented seven incredible organizations. Each of them shared a book or podcast that has inspired them, so if you need some spring reading/listening inspo we suggest you check them out - the full list is below.

Participants then took part in four roundtable discussions, each featuring one of the 12 mentors, covering a range of topics including career development and work-life balance. Mentors, along with a facilitator, spent approximately 15 minutes with each table sharing their career story, answering questions, offering advice and, in our experience, encouraging some powerful group conversations!

It was great to hear and learn from our mentors and get together with our members and, for those that were able to join us, we hope you left the event engaged and inspired. We also encourage you to make the most of those connections you made, whether that’s taking note of who you met or reaching out on LinkedIn.

If you weren’t able to join us this time, be sure to look out for the next WISE Twin Cities event and check out the mentor resource recommendations.
