Featuring the women of Bally Sports North

Monday, March 6, 2023
11:00am - 12:30pm
LeSalle Plaza Conference Center, Harvest Room

At WISE Twin Cities' 5th Annual Power Play Panel we got to celebrate our announced partnership with Bally Sports North. We gathered at the conference center of their downtown offices and observed a panel featuring incredible women from their organization.

Featuring Bally Sports North panelists:

  • Lea B. Olsen - Broadcast Analyst and Sideline Reporter of Bally Sports North (Moderator)
  • Kelly Pullis - Traffic Manager, Bally Sports North
  • Tami Henderson -  Panelist and Marketing Consultant (Sales), Bally Sports North
  • Audra Martin - Panelist and  Sideline Reporter/Host of Bally Sports North
  • Nicole Kunkel - Panelist and Senior Editor, Bally Sports North

Highlights from the Panel:

  • “Do you like what you do, do you have enough time, and do you like the job and boss? …and with that you will have a good work life balance.” - Tami Henderson
  • “Everyday you have to try to find that confidence… When you find that confidence, women no longer appear as competition but instead your friends… The more fulfilling thing in sports broadcasting is meeting other women who share that outlook and experience.” - Audra Martin
  • “You should care about details. Take pride in your work and the story you are telling. The most important [perspective] is the people involved… It’s their personal story, not just the broadcast.” - Nicole Kunkel
  • “I felt like I always had to be stern or angry when answering questions to be taken seriously” - Kelly Pullis
  • “There are a lot of external factors that impacted my jobs; some years are good and some are bad and it’s about managing myself through those.” Tami Henderson
  • “My mom had ensured I never through of jobs for women or men. She was an early influence for me” - Nicole Kunkel
  • “Be close ended, don’t leave it open for interpretation. Say what you mean and leave it at that.” - Tami Henderson
  • “Own up to those mistakes [is the best piece of feedback]. By accepting it, you can learn from it. - Kelly Pullis
