WISE Twin Cities Launches Partnership with Sportsdigita, Next Gen Sports Industry Grant

New partnership and grant opportunity for young professionals in the sports and events industries

Minneapolis, MN. WISE Twin Cities is excited to announce a new partnership with Sportsdigita.

“It is an honor to partner with Sportsdigita and its team! Sportsdigita has continued to elevate what teams are doing in the sports industry and we hope to bring further support, connection and mentorship to local Twin Cities sports professionals through our partnership,” says Kara Kawakami, President of WISE Twin Cities. One of the unique features of the partnership is the launch of the Next Gen Sports Industry Grant, an initiative designed to help young professionals advance in their careers.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with such a passionate partner. Our commitment has always been to push the boundaries of what’s possible for women in the sports industry, and through this partnership, we aim to further strengthen our impact in the Twin Cities. By working together, we’re looking to inspire and empower the local sports professionals who make this community so vibrant.” says Angelina Lawton, Founder and CEO of Sportsdigita.

The Next Gen Sports Industry Grant will provide financial assistance to eight young professionals who demonstrate passion and commitment in the sports and events sector. The grant will cover the cost of annual membership to WISE Twin Cities and a ticket to the annual celebration event, Women of Inspiration. This opportunity will offer grantees the opportunity to forge deeper connections, mentorship, and ownership of their career.

“Through the Next Gen Sports Industry Grant powered by Sportsdigita, we are excited to open doors for professionals to have further access to industry connections, mentorship and industry driven programs through WISE Twin Cities membership. We are grateful for the commitment and passion Sportsdigita shares in building opportunities for emerging talent in our industry,” says Kawakami.

Applications are open for young professionals with three or fewer years of full-time industry experience. Students are also welcome to apply. Interested candidates can submit their application here by October 23, 2024.

About WISE Twin Cities:
WISE - Women in Sports and Events - is the leading voice and resource for women in the business of sports. Founded in 2017, WISE Twin Cities carries out the WISE mission by facilitating meaningful connections among local industry professionals and offering programming, events and valuable networking opportunities in the area throughout the year.

About Sportsdigita:
Sportsdigita helps 500+ brands around the globe power immersive, trackable presentations with its cloud-based presentation platform, DIGIDECK. Sportsdigita was created from a genuine need in the sports market for teams to tell compelling stories when pitching significant partnerships. CEO + Founder Angelina Lawton saw the lackluster presentations and off-brand material circulated at the Tampa Bay Lightning, where she held the title SVP, Corporate Communications at the time, and knew there had to be a better way to “present.” Today, Sportsdigita’s DIGIDECK platform expands outside of sports, serving significant brands in nearly every industry with notable names like the New York Yankees, VISA, the NFL, and ESPN Events using the technology to drive more revenue.
