Employee Well-being: Maximize Your Mental Health This May

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and it’s critical to take action on steps to improve the mental health of those in the sports and events industry. Following a trend that began at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, rates of burnout, anxiety, and depression are at record rates with 1 in 5 adults living with a mental health diagnosis in the United States (Center for Disease Control). Premier Sport Psychology, one of WISE Twin Cities’ corporate members, is dedicated to improving mental health education for athletes, coaches, administrators, employees, and those outside of the sport community.

While reactive resources will always play a critical role in the mental health care ecosystem, getting out in front of it with proactive care is essential to improving mental health for generations to come. Proactive mental health care isn’t just for youth and young adults. All humans can benefit from proactive mental health care…and the workplace is no exception.

Now more than ever, it’s important to be proactive about mental health and wellness in the workplace.
