About Class A LPGA Teaching Professional Sara Detlefsen:

Sara Detlefsen is an accomplished player and dynamic female golf instructor. A Minnesota native, Sara grew up playing high school golf for Eastview HS, making a state-wide name for herself by placing first twice in the Minnesota State Junior Girls Golf Championship. She earned a full athletic scholarship with Florida Gulf Coast University by merit of her elite junior golf experience, having been ranked in the Top 100 nationwide.

At Florida Gulf Coast University, Sara earned her Bachelors degree in Political Science and Masters degree in Public Administration, graduating with highest honors. She was a standout member of the golf team and served as team captain her senior year. Sara was involved in student-athlete leadership in multiple ways: Vice President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, leader with FCA, and intern with the FGCU Athletics Life Skills department.

After graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University, Sara embarked on her professional golf career. Shortly after debuting on the LPGA Tour, she complimented her playing expertise with LPGA golf instruction certification. By 24, Sara had accrued her LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals Class A status, her Masters Degree, and the highest level of professional golf experience.

Sara has taught at clinics with both private and public golf clubs, multiple corporations, and is especially passionate about growing the game of golf with women and children. This passion led her to be recruited for the instruction teams for two LPGA national youth academies. She teaches at the Raptor Bay Golf Academy in Bonita Springs, FL and Somerby Golf Club in Rochester, MN seasonally.
